Beer Meatballs & Marinara

Beer and Meatballs? You read that correctly. It is a combination we are honored that our friend Vanessa from bestowed upon us. This recipe will NOT disappoint. It has meatballs AND UFO Winter Blonde. We’re pretty sure this is the best combination... maybe ever.

What's Inside:



What You Need:

– 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
– 2 tsp minced garlic
– ¼ cup breadcrumbs, italian style
– ½ onion, finely diced
– 1 tsp oregano, dried
– 1 tsp rosemary, dried
– ½ tsp red pepper flakes
– ½ tsp thyme, dried
– 1 egg
– 1 tsp kosher salt
– 1 tsp black pepper
– ¼ cup beer
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 2 cups shredded mozzarella
– Parsley

What You Do:

1. Preheat the broiler
2. Spray a cast-iron skillet with cooking spray
3. Combine the beef, garlic, breadcrumbs, onion, herbs, egg, salt and pepper and beer in a large bowl
4. Mix with your hands (it’s the best way, really) until thoroughly combined
5. Form into balls and make a single layer of meatballs in the skillet
6. Broil for 8 – 12 minutes until the meatballs are browned and cooked through. If you made larger meatballs, you may need an additional 5 minutes or so
7. If you want to serve these family style, remove them to a plate and pour off the liquid in the pan and return the meatballs. You can also remove the meatballs into individually sized baking dishes for serving
8. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs
9. Sprinkle with the shredded mozzarella
10. Broil for another 3 – 5 minutes until the cheese is melted
11. Sprinkle with parsley and enjoy!
